The first shares you received can be sold in October but you will pay tax on the proceeds.

It's the lesser of 32% of either the price per share at the time of sale, or when they where given to us IIRC. Given the share price is currently £5.04 and the price for the first batch was £4.89 that could be significant.windermeredave wrote:Tax and NI actually, 32p in each poundDeadly wrote:The first shares you received can be sold in October but you will pay tax on the proceeds.

You were told wrong! All the information you need will be in the ‘guide to shares’ you received before floatation. If you don’t still have it, you can see it here: https://www.myroyalmail.com/sites/defau ... ochure.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;TONY MELON wrote:I was told you only pay tax on the gain price of your shares
This is a quote from page 22:
You will have to pay income tax and National Insurance
on the lower of:
• the market value of Free Shares at the time you are
given them; or
• the market value of Free Shares when you remove them
from the SIP.
