Hello all !
I'm pretty sure the 318s are legal documents. Can anyone confirm ?
Also.. our unit is currently running without them. Any idea how I can crowbar the local manager to get them written up ?

No I don't think they are. It's a fine point but the 318s themselves have no legal basis, but some of the information contained in them regarding H&S (hazards, toilets stops etc) are required under certain H&S legislation.

Have all the duties undergone the "WRAP" process, if so I believe that takes the place of 318s.

However, I am not certain of any the above so if anyone is please advise.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Everyone's 318s have a bit that reads something like "or as directed" so in reality it's down to the managers what you do and when

This is where it gets interesting, is the 318 a legal document because it states contractual entitlements and requirements. The answer I would suspect is No, because they are not the originating documents, merely the ones that advise the duty holder of them.

However, it could be said that the information contained in them has a legal implication on contracts, so it should at least be accurate.
