I had a crappy day, left my truck for longer than normal, went back to get more mail/parcels and leave empty bags in it.

Walking along the last stretch before going back to depot and this woman pops up, introduced herself as **** from RM security, asked how long i had left the truck for, told her possibly 10 mins ( it was a little more ), customer kept me talking for about 5 mins over her parcels. She asked me for my identity card and i remembered i had put it in one of the empty sacks but forgot to take it out :d'oh!

Anyway, had to sign this slip, in all the years i've done this job i've never been stopped on my walk, are they doing this in other areas ?

Yep over the last 3 years about 5 or 6 people have been stopped in our office.

4 were all clear no faults - they had to sign a bit a paper.

1 had left his van unlocked was removed from driving for a short time. I think he may have got a 2-year warning (not a suspended dismissal)

1 had mail on the front seat, he got a severe bollocking and was told not to be so stupid again.

Yours seems very minor if the truck was unattended for longer than 10 minutes but everything else was kosher. (Locked, no mail on display etc). Not having your ID to hand is certainly a minor thing. A wrapped knuckle is the worst I would expect in my office.

Thank goodness that parcels were nothing like at the same level of silliness as the amount of letters and "flats" we had, heaviest Monday bundles I can recall since Xmas pressure. :Boo hoo!
