The first allocation yes, but you will pay Tax and NI, keep them another two years then there will be no deductions.

Re: When ...
I'm pretty certain I remember there being people on this forum 2-3 years ago saying they'd be worth zilch by this coming October ... So far, once things settled down after the silly season immediately after the IPO the share price has been pretty constant!slinder123 wrote:another two years they be worth zilchtherailway wrote:The first allocation yes, but you will pay Tax and NI, keep them another two years then there will be no deductions.

Re: When ...
The first allocation was actually 613 shares on 15th October 2013 - they can be sold from 15th October 2016 onwards minus tax & NI.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:729 for FT - prorata for PTs.Andy_07 wrote:How many shares have folk got from our first allocation ?
The second allocation was 116 shares on 9th April 2014.
The third allocation of 103 shares was on 5th October 2015.
And we're supposed to be getting a fourth at some point.

I'm part time and have 529 shares from our October 2013 allocation, Dunno if you're post FT meant full time ? if so i took it as only full timers can cash in if they wanted in October 2016 ?
At the time i think it was 4.29 per share and having 529 of them i reckon its about 2500 minus tax , National insurance etc.. So IF i wanted to cash in i'm looking aty about 2 grand

Tax & NI is deducted as follows:
Income tax and National Insurance are calculated using the market value of the shares at the time the employee was given the Free Shares or the market value of the Free Shares when the employee removes them from the SIP, whichever is lower.
The price of the first allocation was £4.88 per share I think while the share price closed today at £4.48.
So based on todays price and your 529 shares, you would pay tax and NI on a value of £2,369 which would mean a deduction of £758, leaving £1,611 in your pocket. Dealing charges will also need to be taken off.

Cheers for that mate..Seems a bit steep on the deduction side of things, I'm maybe better leaving them for another 2 years and getting them tax free.

Am i wrong in assuming the price of the shares when allocated was actually the 330p they floated at?

Re: When ...
The floatation price was £3.30 but because the shares went up so much initially, the price when they were allocated to us was £4.89(corrected slightly from my previous post).Am i wrong in assuming the price of the shares when allocated was actually the 330p they floated at?
The second batch we got in April 2014 had a value of £5.15 per share. While the third lot was £4.57.
