Flexible retirement

Post by shazzbat »

Does anybody know if you have taken your pension, can you still ask for flexible retirement? Only I have my pension but would like to reduce my working week to 3days, but not sure if that would be allowed.
Any help appreciated

Flexible retirement simply means taking your pension and carrying on working, so you have already done that!

Whether you can reduce your hours will be dependent on circumstances at your office. I don’t think the fact you’ve already taken your pension should affect that in any way.

Thank you for that.
I wasn't 100% sure what it entailed and someone said I may be able to reduce hours worked.

I know of several colleagues who have done exactly the same thing. Gone to a three day week - cashed in their pension. So, they are no better off financially - but working a three day week on virtually full-time wages.
