Busy Monday, we are on shorter hours Monday and Tuesday - not much mail
But Mondays are getting worse than Wednesdays and Thursday now

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Woke up at 9am to a phone call from a manager. "Is it your day off today? I hate to ask but could you come in as we're struggling and i would appreciate it if you could blah blah blah".
Forgot to mention that I had to be out the office at 15:00 to be somewhere and told them when I arrived. Couldn't believe how it was then made out that I'd messed their 'management' for a busy day and causing trouble.
I'd never even seen a HCT before but today was the day. Pissing down with rain with no waterproof clothing and had to bring back a small bundle. I'm dreading my first xmas as a postie.

Got soaked in rainstorm. Asked my full timer partner if I could have 5 mins break to eat a sandwich. He hit the roof. Breaks are a myth at royal mail.

Why are you asking your partner he is not your boss? If you want a break take it and tell them to poke it if they don't like it!messenger012013256 wrote:Got soaked in rainstorm. The shared van duties don't have breaks in our office. All part the the bullying culture pushed by RM. Remember Star Burst? Can you imagine if that had come in?Judgee wrote:Why are you asking your partner he is not your boss? You are entitled to a break. It varies depending on the amount of hours you work but you are entitled to a break. If your not getting it but you want to use it then tell your DOM or get you Union rep involved as they cannot stop you from taking it! If your not taking it because of a bullying DOM then that's all the more reason to get your union rep onto this.

Doesn't actually apply to me but I do know of situations in our office where this is going on. It's all part of the race to the bottom culture that so many are used to now.Judgee wrote:heapsy wrote:The shared van duties don't have breaks in our office. The word harassment springs to mind. When will these doms get the message most of us posties work to live not the other way around?DirtyHarry wrote:I know what I would do the next time they come a calling.camelelf wrote:Woke up at 9am to a phone call from a manager. When colleagues stop being at the beck and call of overpaid, and frankly useless, lower management.rambo1 wrote:The word harassment springs to mind.
