Only problem is most of the sequenced mail went to the wrong DO !!! Now we have even more to do...
Wednesday is always heavy but tomorrow... aaaaghhhhh
It was lighter than yesterday defo but with double lapsing and quite a few tracked letters and packets no one wanted to be in to accept was still rubbish.. what time did you finish?

13:40 today, normally 17:00-17:45 !!!
I am 20hr PT but doing 40+ hours weekly.
Some of us asked if we could prep the errant sequenced when it arrived this afternoon to get ahead on tomorrow but were told 'no' because if was was thrown in (... and not fully delivered...) and a RM manager saw the full frames there would be a huge problem and P45's handed out... I am new to the job but that seems crazy. For no fault of the DO a bunch of sequenced mail get's delayed and cannot be sorted/delivered in the morning but when it arrives late in the afternoon we are not allowed to touch it until the next day!
I do not profess to understand that logic in anyway but there again I am not paid to...
Oh well, long(er) day tomorrow...
Life is what you make it.......I make mine my own.
There is no logic. Its arse covering and back scratching at its finest I suspect. However, if it was a genuine failure then hopefully they reported it up the line and are following instructions.

How the job changes - we used to be issued torches for the opposite end of the day.

Two hours over today, overtime yesterday and Monday too and blow me of it doesn't look like more of the same for the rest of the week. Must be costing them a fortune.

How common or uncommon is finishing at 3:30-4:00 on Wednesday/Thursday? Absolute knackered after yesterday and I had my first fall as a postie which wasn't pleasant.

I think the problem would be that once in the frames it would be impossible to tell the difference between the failed sequenced mail and any other failures/shabs if there was an audit.
