Finished about 4pm yesterday after doing a row of another walk. Call rate was really high although packets were not too bad.

A really busy couple of weeks. We've been warned that next week is going to be horrendous too.

Finished on time 3 days, and one early and one late finish last week and that was with no DTD's.
They can keep their lapsing this week if we are at a similar level.

My 1st day as an employee!
Full day Induction at Shirley, Southampton. Only 4 of us on the course, all on 20 hour contracts.
Seems the Induction day content has changed recently with a "game" format in the afternoon. Designed and built specifically for RM, takes participants through a range of business scenarios, quizzes and the like. Enjoyed it really.
Tomorrow is 1st day in the delivery office...

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Was on a new walk and asked the holder what time they finished yesterday, over an hour over so said to lino we had no chance of finishing on time today if we were doing lapsing.
He agreed with walk holder to pay him OT for lapsing and I took my car to the walk and save the other chap driving me back, finished 8 minutes before my time (excluding lapsing) which would have put me over had we had to drive back and check in parcels etc. So all in they got a fair days labour and I got a fair day's pay and can't grumble.

A busy week although, strangely, it was easier today with fewer parcels.

Postal workers, especially in deliveries, have to be the hardest working people in Britain.
I have never known such exhaustion, such fatigue, such pain.
And another brutally hard week comes mercifully to an end.
