SIP 2015 Free Shares Expected to be awarded in Oct

Eligible employees are set to receive a SIP 2015 allocation of Free Shares in October 2015.

At the time of our flotation, 10% of Royal Mail shares were given to employees who were eligible at the time as SIP 2013 and SIP 2014 Free Share allocations. This was the largest free stake of any major UK privatisation. More of our people were able to take part than in any other UK privatisation for almost 30 years.

Since then, employees have left the business and some have forfeited their Free Shares, in line with the scheme rules. This means there are now surplus shares in the Share Incentive Plan (SIP) which can now be distributed to eligible employees.

In addition to this, the Government has gifted an extra 1% of company shares, equal to 10 million shares, to eligible employees.

The surplus shares and additional 1% of company shares from Government together make up the SIP 2015 award.

Automatic enrolment

As with previous allocations, you do not need to do anything to be given your SIP 2015 Free Shares. You will automatically be given them unless you choose to opt out. Even if you opted out of previous allocations, you are still eligible to receive SIP 2015 Free Shares.

Eligible employees will receive their SIP 2015 invitation mailing at their home address in September. This will include the full eligibility criteria, the number of Free Shares we expect a full-time eligible employee will receive, and an opt-out form.

Important notice: for the SIP 2013, SIP 2014 and SIP 2015 allocations, the share price can go down as well as up. The value of an employee’s shareholding would be determined by the share price if/when they sell their shares.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Majority of Royal Mail Group Limited’s employees in the UK are eligible

The majority of Royal Mail Group Limited’s employees in the UK, including employees working in Parcelforce Worldwide, are eligible to be given SIP 2015 Free Shares if they meet certain conditions or eligibility criteria.

To be eligible, you need to have been continuously employed by Royal Mail Group Limited from 1 June 2015 and still be employed when the SIP 2015 Free Shares are awarded in October 2015.

Eligible full-time employees will receive the same number of SIP 2015 Free Shares, regardless of grade.

Eligible part-time employees will be given a pro-rata number of SIP 2015 Free Shares based on their paid hours between 1 June 2015 and 30 August 2015.*

Full details of the eligibility criteria, the number of Free Shares we expect a full-time eligible employee to receive, and an opt-out form will be included in the SIP 2015 invitation, which eligible employees will receive at their home address in September.

Important notice: for the SIP 2013, SIP 2014 and SIP 2015 allocations, the share price can go down as well as up. The value of an employee’s shareholding would be determined by the share price if/when they sell their shares.

*for weekly-paid employees; and between 1 June 2015 and 31 August 2015 for monthly-paid employees.
