Rubbish from the start.

Me and my partner got in trouble for not doing the dpf cleaning after our duty on Friday. We were half an hour over our time and both had to get back for the schools coming out. The manager and their little postie pet that checks the vans treated this like the crime of the century

Loads of tracks and recorded packets. Nightmare Saturday.

Normal amounts of Tracked and Specials but virtually no packets...........I can only guess that NIMC failed their packets again (for the second time this week).
Still, as long as someone is getting a bonus then it's all fine.

Even by Royal Mail's savage standards, that was a hell of a brutal week.

Saturday, got told my overtime on my day off, Tuesday was cancelled. Apparently they now have an extra man from somewhere so a longer break than most for me. Saturday, asked to do the two yorks of parcels on overtime. Shortly before I went out the gaffer stopped me and said would I do some of a walk on overtime. I had been throwing this walk off earlier and they had only just realised that nobody was actually delivering it. Then a sudden change back to parcels so off I went with one of the yorks loaded into the van with my walk. Got back and then loaded up the second york. Finally finished about 4.30.

Let the Scots keep Royal Mail afloat while the rest of the UK have a day off. Absolutely leathered today. "Oh I thought you'd be not working today", was the common cry!! Why does Virgin Media constantly harass old age pensioners about getting broadband and TV? You have been warned. But tomorrow our office will be told by the lino, I could have shut our office down for the day as there's no mail!! Well give us our days in lieu from the last 3 years then ya c*nt. Only joking our lino hides when it's busy. Only joking again, he hides all the time.

Another day another failure, not too sure (because I didn't look around the office too much) but I think 3 duties didn't go out, plus the packets lying around that didn't go out............it would almost seem that they don't have to get the post out anymore if it interferes with the budget.

Ridiculously busy for a Tuesday even though it was a bank holiday. 5 trays of mech mail, electoral roll letters for every single door. It felt like Xmas had come early, didn't finish until 2.45.

From a newbie - what's 'dpf cleaning'? Int the context of the post I'm guessing it's something to do with cleaning the
vehicles but it's not in the list of abbreviations and it's not a term I've heard in the sorting office yet.

Cheers

Diesel Particulate Filter, the new vans aren't fit for purpose and you have to run the engine for 15 or 20 minutes to clean it (burn the particles off).

Tuesdays hours but busy. Loads of mail for the schools I deliver to. Should have been done yesterday but..... day off man didn't take it. :arrrghhh It rained. Finished late. Followed that with a shift in the callers office. Lost the Screen for the SPS system. Had to log in on another computer. Then just when I thought everything was ok, got locked out. Had to change my password. :evil/mad :arrrghhh :d'oh!
