Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Yesterday was pretty much as yesterday for mail. Bigger parcels coming through today. Absolutely sweltering. Shirt was soaked by the time I finished.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Very busy but I used the trolley for 2 rounds, first I've used it other than for one bag last Christmas and wonder why I haven't used it more.
Is there a limit of how far it can be away from you, never had any training on it so obviously I can't have it right up to every door and one of the loops had a couple of large courtyard layout so it was helpful doing about 10 doors then moving it but beginning to wonder how close it should be?
Yesterday I put mail through a letterbox 2 inches from the ground and got up and turned full on into a hanging basket, thought I'd burst my forehead with the force, felt like ripping it off and doing a Geoff Capes with the F'in thing

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
After yesterdays excessive mail I was expecting today to be a bit lighter, it was even worse, I can only be glad that England is off and there is no mail because otherwise we'd be screwed.
Oh wait, for the first time ever we have duties not going out.

Very hot and humid yesterday. Did my walk plus a row of another across town. Shattered. Went to Manchester last night, it was heaving. Pubs absolutely rammed. Had to dodge the rain and the thunder / lightning storm.

Thought I caught my finger in a letterbox, 1st house on the loop so went back to the van and taped it up and few letters looked bloodied and took a good bit of rubbing to make them look 10% presentable, lucky it was the final loop. Washed it up when I got home and on closer examination I think I got nipped by the mongrel in the house rather than the letterbox as deep cut both sides of my finger but think I'll live. House had a letter cage behind the door and I had a lumpy flat that I pushed through, probably too far!

Four hours of torrential downpours. Left two loops and finished bang on time.
A day like this reminds of how crap the clothing and equipment are. Waterproof jackets that aren't waterproof, shoes that are as waterproof as flip-flops, pouches with the water resistance of a sponge and vans that take 10 seconds to condensate and 10 minutes to clear!

Long day with some parcels on overtime at the end. The mail was down on the last two days but packets were plenty.
