Frozen pension with 22 years service

Post by bexie »

Wonder if you guys could help. I left Royal Mail 4 years ago, after 22 years service on a VR package & my pension was frozen . At present I am 44 & wondered what someone retiring now, at 60, with the same length of service would benefit in terms of lump sum & monthly payment ?

Your pension was actually deferred rather than frozen, so it has been and will continue to increase with inflation until you take it.
Your most recent pension statement will give you the answer to how much you’re likely to get as it’s individual to you.

Bexie, any regrets? You started at 18 and left at 40. I think it is still a good job. And as long as I am fit and heathy I will remain. By the way I'm 54 with 24 years service.
