then it would be down to one of the dims o/t gang to throw them in with the mail , and as for delivering them just work your hours or claim o/t to complete the duty.

The Union has made the point that this will be very difficult to manage and will also prove unpopular with our members due to the Saturday connotation.

Better they concentrate their efforts in gaining us the TIME WITHIN THE DUTY to prep & deliver said D2D's

All but the most senior duty holders prep them in their OWN time.

Think about it people, if you take where you are going less calls = less outdoor time. If you prep all Monday Tuesday no need for any indoor time rest of the week.

how do you know which addresses you've been to,,,,,without writing it down.

Throw them all in first thing monday & take where your going with mail. Usually almost all gone come saturday.

and if you have 6 sets,,,,my delivery has 978 drops.. which is 5868 d2ds to throw in before you even touch the mail. no time.

What planet do some people live on,how the hell are you supposed to put multiple lots of d2d's in on a Monday morning before you even start on the normal mail,we have nearly 1200 points on our frames.

exactly the point i'm making. if you had 6sets....then that would be 7200 d2ds to throw in BEFORE you even put a letter in....total bollox.

apart from the mail you will have to box in and your packets to mark up, redirections, kill offs.

And for frames that have double slots? You'd have to mark on the D2D which of the two addresses it is for, e.g. #12 has live mail, #14 has none, other wise how is the person who is on the duty the following day going to know?

Ahh the Saturday miracle, we had a bit of a meeting today. Boss says "I've noticed what time people are finishing on Saturday, scanners logged off etc. What about talking 30mins off Saturday and adding 15mins to Wednesday and Thursday"
The runners were warned by the more enlightened. Management don't see starting an hour early and doing Usain Bolt impressions, all they see is your finish time.

we are given time mon- sat to throw off that days d2d now do it all mon and you have time tues-sat for more absorbtion or in general a larger walk. I can see you all now going "well where will the time come from on a monday to do this" it will come from the promise of jam tomorrow.

Personally those who come in early are the reason we have more and more absorbtion they should be highlighted by the union for corrective training, then councelling then the conduct code. These people are a danger to work with and refuse to learn, well if it has to be by the hard way then hopefully they will at least learn.

We are urged by the union not to bury our heads in the sand and do the job properly, well can we not expect our colleagues to do the same, am i not entitled to demand this from them?.

And this going to take time time time as most of my frame (certainly over 50%) are double slots.

Monday's are going to be great as a result of this. It will require an overhaul of start/end times for sure if this is going to work.

Well there could trouble ahead, because indoor and outdoor merging has been touted again so how would that work with prepping D2D? Not that I think it's a starter but some ex-colleagues used to prep, bundle and then have a another bundle of late mail from the run or missorts from the office and be out of the door quicker.
