Am looking in to doing a h&s course and would like to know if I get full release from work as I don't want to lose any of my wage

If you are a H&S rep and went through your branch then yes you should be able to get paid release.

If you are not a rep, or its not through the branch you would have to get the Managers prior permission, which is not automatic nor is it statutory so unless you can sell it as Devloping yourself and that it will benefit RM I would doubt they would give it. Its also doubtful you would get paid.

If its a CWU course then its paid release. If unsure about anything then contact your Area Safety Rep for confirmation, doing this will also help you network with them and build a rapport, which is a good thing as it means you'll have back up against managers if you need it.

Yes it's paid and will keep in contact with the reps as our office is getting silly with lapsing managers taking the piss.
