No lapsing for me yesterday, didn't finish delivery till half 3! Not helped by arriving at my part time hours to find 2 bags of packets & second wave of mail to throw in. Time I got that done, and tied up I didn't start my first letter till 10am!DirtyHarry wrote:The weather at its most hottest, and therefore its most dangerous, and absorption is still foisted on the hapless Delivery staff. Uber quick shift today - went in, only to find out I'm supposed to be day off!
Guess I misread the rota for this week!

Had some busy days recently. The heat has been, for me at least, the hardest thing to deal with. Day off today and no phone call or text so far. Sun shining brightly again.

Another hot day out with the trolley. Just cannot drink enough water. However I am getting a lovely tan LOL.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Delivered to a new address that had a partly restored DWK in the garden, that was a little unusual.

Was walking along today with Royal Mail shirt on, pouch bag, bundle in my arm, Royal Mail hat on, van was a few meters up the road in plain view and someone says to me "Are you the postman"

Very hot and sticky day. Headed off to bed for an hour or so after work, really needed it.

Trolley walk today, covering for regular postie on this walk. In at 9:00, out at 9:30ish, back to 11:45. Quiet day. Seemed to be more door-to-doors in my bundles than addressed mail.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
I got a go in an MRI scanner today!
Not sure whether it was the glare from the overhead lights, or the loud noise, but stinking headache now!
At least rest of annual leave to look forward to without any mri scans to worry about!

Not bad today! I think I got lucky as a lot of others were overloaded with packets, the walk I do is usually one of the heavier for packets but not today. We will see what Friday brings!
P.S.
I HATE that bloody pop-up ad on the main page!
7 seconds? more like 20!

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Walk was fine, van unfortunately wasn't, it had a disagreement with a grit bin and a heavy scrape or two on the wing
What's the script with touching this up, can I do this to avoid it going down official channels, sure a tiny bit of filler in the scrape which is minor, quick sand down, primer and finding royal mail red paint and it'll be good as new.
