You do realise that NIC’s just go into a pot and are spent on anything the government see fit. Dole dossers, pointless wars in the Middle East, etc, etc…

You’re also helping to put another nail in the coffin of the RMPP and the pay and conditions of yourself and your colleagues.

It's a fair point Robert but I suppose the only reason I am opting out is because what I have seen with my parents when one has a private pension and contracted out and the other the opposite. I don't need to tell you who gets the most money. Also although I want a good pension and paid in for many a year would like a good return but have invested in other things which I have more control over. Pensions are a great thing especially the older ones but the world is changing and you will only know when you get paid out 20 years still to pay in my case.
I expect it to shut in 2018 anyway as profits will be the most important thing to shareholders and the company.
