Well, Friday tomorrow and it doesn't look like the missing three of my six D2D's is going to turn up. I'm gutted !

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Last night I was told by the driver there was a load of mail for our office in the mail centre. He wasn't wrong. Absolutely hammered. Managers couldn't cope with the fall out. Loads of overtime if you wanted it, people sick, people sent to other offices, some on holidays.

Looked like a mad busy day today - wheens of glossy A4 next catalogues! But indoor work for me mostly, then out to do a loop on a supposed "flat" bit. More like hilly with stairs!
Glad I'm off Sat & Sun!

Another bad one although slightly easier on the packets. People working days off to cover and we can barely cope at the moment.

You mean you don't do Wednesday hrs Tuesday and visa versa after a BH? Is this just something our dom makes up? Wasn't complaining this time as I was Tuesday off! Got to work less hrs Wednesday, ha.Barbel wrote:Light for a Wednesday so expecting a very busy day tomorrow getting soaking wet.

We have this now, we only found out by chance, apparently the union know nothing about it eitherrambo1 wrote:You mean you don't do Wednesday hrs Tuesday and visa versa after a BH? Also found out today in our office (4 ft duties and 1 pt duty) another one is dropping to part-time (so that'll be 3 staff to split the mail and packets and throw 5 walks in), again the union knew nothing about it

Yesterday no specials and only 1 packet/parcel brought back between us.
Today 10 specials and came back with 4 of them and well into double figure packets and parcels returned, what with having to detour for our specials and lapsing we were a good 30 minutes longer that yesterday and that included me making up my D2D's and putting them in yesterday.

Snap. I can well remember a manager many years ago telling us that the internet would kill us off. Sadly he retired some years back so cannot see what we face on an almost daily basis.ShropshireLad wrote:Packetgeddon at ours today.
