That's just mad.greengiant wrote:Pretty busy, nearly 30 minutes of lapsing. ended up 1hr 30 over! Also got the fun of delivering a D2D this week advertising a housing development with half million pound houses to an area which is predominantly social housing.I can understand pizza hut, furniture stores etc, but advertising half million pound houses?

Bad, for a Tuesday. Will be even worse tomorrow. Met a night man this afternoon and he tells me they are in 2 hours early tonight.

Handed in my notice this morning but then the managers had a meeting and told me I can't resign.
Apparently that is how it works.
It is a shame as I was looking forward to having the summer off so I could decide what I wanted to do next.
Oh well. Never mind. Ill just carry on.

A deadly quiet Wednesday
This is following a pointless Tuesday
Tuesday could have been absorbed into today to make it a normal day

Today I was sick (I am hardly ever am sick . . . ten days total in ten years). Took me four attempts to get through to the office at 5 minute intervals from 6.05. Later in the morning I was rung twice by managers 'to see how I was'.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Went out bone dry and with a full van on P&L delivery.
Surprise, surprise, the DOM decided to "have a huddle" prior to everyone leaving the office. This delayed everyone by around 25-30 minutes! Finally left late, and got first two loops done in the dry, and then the heavens opened up (You'd probably be drier getting a shower!!) The torrential downpour that hit us wasn't meant to be as the wonderful weatherman (Oh how he lied, aka got it totally wrong!) as the forecast was rain with the occasional spell of heavy rain. No mention of torrential downpours at all!
We spent the rest of the delivery delivering wet mail and packets to everyone else, in rain that changed from heavy to torrential downpours for the rest of the delivery and it was next to useless trying to keep the mail dry because of the really bad weather too. Whenever we returned to the vane we were pouring rainwater out of the pouches and that didn't make us any happier either.
Finally got back to the office totally soaked through with soggy cardboard packets that couldn't be delivered.
Let's hope tomorrow is a better day!
