Hi, I know its frustrating at the start but my shifts have slowly picked up now finally , there is some favoritism that goes on with the old casuals, but depending on where you are if you try to stick to one shift pattern you can slowly become a regular through that

We're basically cheap labour, we're being paid the NMW and for what for 4 hours shifts a week if we're lucky. We sit next to our phone everyday in anticipation waiting to be called by text then we try to ring only to be told that the shifts are all gone, we are slowly going back to the Victorian era. The agency makes a big cut out of our wages, we work really hard for this pittance and they sit down in their cushy headquarters f**** cashing it in from us . And did I tell you how they bring in new employees on ZHC every 12 weeks !!! So they avoid paying more an hour? And what happens to the newly qualified AWR angardees their simply left on the shelf no more texts !!! I hope to see how they'll cope if one day all the agency staff walked out, oh yeah that would be interesting! Soon these ZHC contracts will spread like cancer. However, big companies prefer this than hiring perm staff so they make sure we don't have rights, no sick pay, no holiday pay! I urge you and others to try your best to find another job where you're given regular hours and be treated with self respect and dignity. Also being on the dole is much better than slaving away on ZHCs workhouses.
I can't understand how a small number of Angard employees get more hours each week than the other sometimes working more than 30 hours a week. How is that fair?

I don't understand how angard staff think they're going to get lots of hours but that's just my thoughts. Angard staff are there only for when there isn't enough resource internally.

It should never be considered to be anything other than a bit of money on the side. If you're sitting there waiting for a phone call/text all day get out and look for a proper job. At the very least pick up a few more low frequency contracts. Hanging around depending on angard for 4 hours a week is just mad.

It say crows are black everywhere. Angard making big money via employing new peoples. after AWR finish they dont want you thats why they keep recruit new peoples knowingly some place works are very slow.

I've been with Angard a month. First week I got 15hrs. Next week I got 3 hrs. Then I didn't get any at all. Last week I got five. This week so far, nada. I can't live on that. Thankfully, I've now been offered a real job with a guaranteed 30hrs a week. I'd like to keep my hand in at Angard as I quite like the work, but I don' t think the two jobs will combine to make that possible. Will the texts just dry up by themselves if I don't answer or can't do them, or should I just email Angard and ask to be taken off their list now? I'm sure I read somewhere that if you don't do any work for them for six weeks you lose your security clearance and have to re-apply. Does anyone know if that's right or not? How do you quit a zero-hour contract?

Your right about the security checks. If you can keep going,if you have a full time job angaard will be pocket money.Good luck

Six weeks relates to the loss of AWR. It's said to be 4 weeks (without contact rather than without work ) for security, but I don't know anyone whose been affected. The six weeks for AWR can be extended by taking holiday.
