hi im a newby on here , but i have applied for a postman with driving eight times, i know my test scores are good and my answers on the test are correct , but never been invited to an interview and i can not get any feedback, i could be doing something wrong without knowing it , are these jobs already taken as ive just seen there is a three month waiting list i am 53 it could be my age but not having anyone to have a quick chat to i am at a loss,, i could just be wasting my time ??

Its not age - we have someone aged 55 who just started.

Sometimes a vacancy will be advertised and a current employee will apply for it as a transfer, sometimes HR may withdraw a vacancy for budgetary reasons but these are only likely to happen in large urbanised areas. But even then 8 times would be unusual.

Unfortunately as the system is now automated feedback is difficult to get, the only option available, and its a long shot, is perhaps try a data access request on all information they hold on you.

No angard deal only with casuals. Royal Mail do their own recruiting for Permanent and Fixed Term or Temporary positions.

Hi. I know how you feel. I applied 10 times over two years for a postie job. It can be really disheartening but on my 10th application I got an interview. I read a post on here about a postie who applied 15 times before getting the job so be persistent :)

But how far away were those eight vacancies ?
I think there's a good chance if you apply to your nearest Delivery Office but not if it's an office some distance away, presumably because, other things being equal, someone commuting a short distance might be thought to be more reliable than someone from afar. :cuppa
