NRA65 illustration forecast

Post by casp21 »

I am taking VR and I know that my NRA60 pension illustration figures show the amounts that will be deferred until I retire at 60. But does anyone know if the pension illustration for NRA65 shows 'forecast' amounts or amounts that have already been built up? In other words is the figures now shown on the illustration deferred at those figures or do they go down once i leave the business. I am 52 with 30 years service. Cheers!!

The NRA65 figures assume you carry on working for RM until 65, so as you're planning on leaving soon, they are no longer valid.

I'm in section C of the RM pension so have no first hand knowledge of a section A/B pension statement, which I assume yours is based on your 30 years service. But if they're roughly the same, the pension amount listed under 'your pension' would be the amount of deferred pension you'd be entitled to.

Thanks for your answer, so, not to sound too thick, do you think the NRA65 figures will stay the same every year I get a pension illustration after I leave the business, with just the usual small increase?

Both the NRA60 and NRA65 elements of your pension will rise with inflation each year until you decide to take them.
