Be wary of sending parcels to the Czech Republic; video shows worker tossing packages onto the ground

A Czech postman has got the sack after he was caught on video hurling parcels out of the back of his van onto the pavement.

The video, which appeared on YouTube and got widespread coverage in the Czech media, showed the postal working chucking one package after another onto the ground in an apparently ill-tempered search for the parcel he was supposed to be delivering.

Given that he appeared not to care that he was being filmed at the time there was suspicion the video was a joke, but this was not the case.

“The video is not a hoax,” said Matyas Vitik, a spokesman for Czech Post, told Blesk, a Czech newspaper. “A worker, who had never been the subject of a complaint before, has had his employment terminated.

“He was sorry about the whole thing,” Mr Vitik added. “But unfortunately for him this was serious and indefensible conduct. It was not in line with the high standards of the post office.”

The man who made the video, who has remained anonymous, said the situation occurred when the postman turned up outside his home in Prague saying that he as was unable to find the right parcel in his van he should go to the post office and pick it up later.

Displeased with the service as he had paid for delivery, the client demanded that the postman look again, and this triggered the parcel throwing incident.

Czech Post said they wanted to contact the client to apologise

I reckon he is a part time RDC, and he has gone into work and the full timer whose duty he is supposed to be covering that day is working his day off, so he is surplus and has been sent to another office.
The packet duty has been loaded for him by a blind full timer and nothing is in the right order.
And to make matters worse they have prepped last weeks D2D failures in as well.

No wonder he is grumpy.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It looks like it's that little brown jiffy he gets out of the van with at the end, it must have slipped down the side out of sequence. I've felt in a similar mood before when a teeny special has tipped out of the box in the back and I'm having to climb in and rummage around in front of an impatient punter!
