Track and trace query
Been given a tracking number by a seller I have bought something off but when I track it all that comes up is this:
tatus: Royal Mail Signed For™ items are only scanned when the item has been delivered. Depending on whether the item was sent 1st or 2nd class, this may be a few days after posting. Please try again later.
What does this mean? Does it mean I won't get my item?

Re: Track and trace query
Recorded delivery items are scanned only at the delivery address, they are not tracked through the Royal Mail system.
You will get your item, but it will have to be signed for by someone at your address.

Ah right, I was worried as he said it was posted but when it wasn't trackable I thought something fishy might be going on.
Just hope I get my item as its a gift and could really do with having it rather than being messed about.

Re: Track and trace query
Nothing has come this morning, the tracking is still showing as the above message. Can these be delivered at any time or does it have to be before 1pm?

Any time. Royal Mail "Signed For" items are treated no differently to normal 1st or 2nd class except that a signature should be taken on delivery.Leo1985 wrote:Nothing has come this morning, the tracking is still showing as the above message. Re: Track and trace query
The person that sent the item asked what would be best to have the items with me today and she recommended this service. Yet I have just got home and nothing.

Re: Track and trace query
93% of the time 1st class is delivered next day - but its not a guaranteed service. If they definitely wanted it next day then "Special Delivery" by 9am or 1pm would have been a better choice.

Well I am away now until Monday, so I guess it will have to be left at my local office. Unless it comes now before I go

Re: Track and trace query
Try the number here http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; does it have any entries (the only entry that I would expect to see if there are any would be a scan at a post office branch)? If it does have a entry for a scan at a po branch, what's the time and date of the scan?

The Reference Number must be in the form XXNNNNNNNNNXX, where X is a single letter of the alphabet and N is a single digit number.

Re: Track and trace query
If the reference is not in the form of TWO LETTERS followed by NINE NUMBERS followed by TWO LETTERS it is not a Royal Mail Signed For reference.
Can you please provide the reference for us to check or verify on your behalf.
