Why is the delivery supplement not pensionable pay?

Post by datasaint »

Correct me if I'm wrong but pensionable pay is based on your basic rate pay which doesn't include the delivery supplement. So we're being short changed over this?

You could say that but you also say that Section C members are short changed by £3,328 per year due to the Lower Earnings Deduction. And people who started the job after April 2008 only have access to the inferior RM Defined Contribution pension.

The way I look at it, is that the RM pension provides a certain amount of benefits. If that’s not enough for your future needs and aspirations then it’s up to you to do something about it.

And in these days of privatisation, competition and slowly moving to a part time workforce, do you really think RM are going to increase their costs by making all of our pay pensionable?

Some of it is pensionable for some people.

When we surrendered Early shift allowance for the Delivery Supplement (along with the D2D payment - around £42 per week combined), then part of the Delivery Supplement was made pensionable for parity.
