Yip we were the same, definitely missing packets, 2 days running and finished on time albeit we never took any oversized packets out today.Nondescript wrote:worryingly light today. Waiting for the packet storm to hit

Absolutely hammered. Parcels everywhere. Never seen so many tracked items, and six specials on top.

Absolutely mental day. Knew I'd pay for it today as it was light yesterday for a Wednesday. 5 trays of mail, 3 sackfuls of packets and and loads of tracked parcels. Hoping it won't be as bad tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath. Surely we've peaked by now.

Hammered! Filled the van up to the roof (Doblo XL) on the first run of mail and the 2nd run was nearly as bad
Took 4 of us nearly 2 hours just to sort the packets out
Left loads of loops

Bloody ludicrous today! We got buried under mail and packets galore, normally it's Wednesday when we get clobbered, but yesterday was really light on packets. And did we suffer for it today!
Left at 10:15... got shot of some of the specials as they were at the end of the delivery and would've failed. Then up and down all those sodding stairs in the flats as well, and finally got back to the orifice at 3:10
Cheers TBT. These do come in handy...!

Hammered Wednesday and today. Insane numbers of packets and loads of mail too. Not much in the boxes today so perhaps we'll have a quieter Friday. Our DOM reckons it will be busy right up to Christmas Eve this year, with Christmas being on a Thursday - people have got this weekend to have a last panic buying session online.

They've asked us to swap Tues and Weds times over next weekShropshireLad wrote:Hammered Wednesday and today. Insane numbers of packets and loads of mail too. Tuesday is less hours for us, they say it is a lighter day so set less hours but now they want us to swap them over next week. Not a chance

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Why would they need to ask? All we can think why is, they are going to shove loads out Tuesday for an easier Weds. And if they do, we'll just leave more loops on TuesdayPostie45 wrote:.dave72 wrote:They've asked us to swap Tues and Weds times over next weekShropshireLad wrote:Hammered Wednesday and today. Not too bad today. Would have finished on time if it wasn't for getting a puncture then having to wait for 90 mins for the RAC to turn up.

Hammered heavy on packets. As fast as I hung a empty bag on the frame they had filled it. Had 4 in total, jez.
Letters and flats no problem just those darn pesky packets.

Light on packets, could see the roof of the van today
But, very heavy on letters, a lot of 2nd class stamps
I'm wondering if they had a packet purge yesterday and a letter one today
Are we over the hill

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Less parcels today which tbh was a relief. Still busy mail wise. Got some extra parcels on o/t as the lads didn't want to do them. Easy enough area to cover and they left me a list of them. Rained on and off again all day.
