Deal at the TUC

Good morning,
What does anyone think has been gained and lost in the deal at the TUC last night.
My humble opinion is that we had to lose something on pensions,flexability may be down to a local level, the network 07 will happen and concessions on D2D will also be in there. All that for a wage rise above the figure they said they could not afford to pay us but have now found from somewhere.
Wasn't it convenient for the judge to cancel the planned strike next week.when RM were saying no deal unless you call off action and Dave Ward being told by reps at last national briefing not to call off action unless he had a deal.Thanks judge you got them both off the hook there.

Hi my name is Simon - I am a supporting the postal work strike here in South London, glad to find this chat board!

Sounds like the deal might be a wash out for the union though,

BBC says

BBC business editor Robert Peston said the "big pillars" of management demands were in place, including pension fund reform, a pay rise this year of around 2.5 per cent and the reform of working practices.

However, he added: "I don't think that the company has got it all its own way".

What concessions have the union won then?

It looks as though flexibility will become a local issue which depending on the strength of the CWU at local units is either a good move or a bad move.

Thanks for your support comrade. Time will tell about the deal, but we'll all be voting on it eventually.
