PPE for Christmas casual posties?

Post by otis_b_flywheel »

Do Christmas casual posties get issued with waterproof jacket / overtrousers? I could use my own but given I'll only be getting £6.90 / hour the wear and tear could cost me. Thanks for any advice.

You won't need it, it's extremely unlikely you'll be working on deliveries more chance you'll be working in a mail centre or one of the temporary parcel sorting depots they open at Christmas, unless I'm wrong and you are going to a delivery office then I wouldn't worry they'll more than likely find you an official storm proof coat to wear.

Definitely doing delivery this year and grateful to avoid the facing table :-)
Thanks for the reassurance.

The class 2 all-weather coat and waterproof leggings are not PPE, they are uniform. The class two hi-visibility waistcoat will be provided to fulfill the PPE requirements, and you may well need to wear your own coat beneath that with appropriate leg wear.
