We were absolutely fekked by the end of the delivery. Heaviest day this week! A sodding Saturday!
Every door due to local council crap along with 9 Specials, 12 Tracked, 9 S/F's, 10 large packets and about 15 small ones! We'll all be fekked by Xmas at this rate! All "tired and shagged out after a long squawk", just like Monty Python!

Quiet one in our office. Managed to get some hours doing parcels but the walks were very light.

Finished my first week, did overtime for them Friday and come Saturday morning then said it shouldn't of took me the time it took. I politely said it took that time because no one would give me a van.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Its been a long day
I started the shift at 5am putting packets in (Im on a 4 day this week); have only put 2 trays of mech from 1st wave and we have been told that there was a fire near the other office so it would be some time before we get the next mech. So we are told to tie-up and do deliveries as usual and the mech that is coming in late will be done tomorrow.
Some deliveries have got 5+ trays of mech because of council letters about the bins. We have been lucky, but we should get them tomorrow. Therefore, we still lapse as usual; whilst the others that have got the bin letters don't lapse. Seems fair enough to me.
Manager from the other section asks me if I will do some overtime in his section to cover sickness. Asks me how many loops I would like to do. When I get out on delivery, he sends message via PDA stating its ok the walk is covered. I then receive a telephone call, how many loops can you do?? lol Normally, I would just take out a loop, but he sounded like he was stuck. I stick my neck out by saying 2 loops to which he said well could I take 3 loops??
At the time, I only had 2 loops to do, plus the lapse. He said that there were council letters in the frame, but I didn't have to take them. So I agreed. Ooops. When I saw the frame, I had never seen so many packets stashed high on the frames, and well, I could have not taken the council letters except for the fact that it would have taken so long just to fish them out when tie-ing up. Best crack on and do the work I agreed.
I figured out where I was going, found my start point, and off I go. 1st loop was a dream, it was just half a street and done in no time. The second loop and third loops were a complete nightmare!! Didnt get finished until 4.30pm
Oh well, you can only do it once!! I certainly wouldnt like to finish at this time everyday.....

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Long day. Did my walk plus most of the parcels. The two late drivers did a (very) small number of parcels and the covering line manager was absolutely desperate. I don't mind helping out, as long as nobody moans about the overtime claim after they are so anxious to clear, and I get paid next week. Had quite a few weeks when the pay has been wrong and I'm not the only one.
