Cheerio chaps

Post by bryanlythgoe »

Had enough of waiting for shifts got myself another job, working for a Royal mail competitor. How many more hard workers have they lost due to lack of shifts (yes I do consider myself to be a hard worker) Good luck to you all, its been nice working with some of you.

we have lost several good experienced workers off our shift. But then I'm sure that's what Royal Mail and Reed/Angard must want. Why would they let it happen otherwise ? Good workers should obviously be offered contracts on a rolling basis. Instead of once in a blue moon take a load on at once. Thats too simple though isn't it ?

Hi, Angard dont care because they get some allowance from government to employ job seeker and Royal mail get low wage employee bcs of government zero hours policy. And yes All big agencies like man power/pertemp and Angard staffing, they employed foreign fake student who came to just only make money here. so dont worry you want be missed. but British economy will definitely missing us.

Can you point me to any information regarding this? all I can find is that work programme providers get paid, not Employment Agencies.

I have worked previously for angard and they used to give me a regularly 25-30 hours a week. After 12 week finished and (AWR) started I was getting some times zero hours a week, most of the times 4/8/12 or maximum (16 hours hardly every 6-8 week)hours. And when I mention them about not getting hours I used to get answer "its quite at the movement " but same time they giving work to new employee every day and still they carry on employing new peoples. It is logic if you quite, why you employing new people and dont give work to seniors? If Angard staffing is Royal mail agency then why they not give first priority to seniors like royal mail have this policy. And All the Agency should check their employees residency. The manegers where I was working they told me thats you are not getting enought works is not a royal mail pro blame but Agency its self because they getting some money from government and low paid wages to maximise their profits. And if this not true then asked any Angard agency worker if are they getting more then 20-25 hours? I bet none of are.

I am another who will be leaving Angard at the end of next week, after nearly 3 years employment on average 4 nights per week. Royal Mail offered me a delivery round at the end of March which I readily accepted, however despite near daily assurances things were progressing well, and blaming Angard for the delay, I still haven't actually been given this role, the latest forecast being from the 1st September. I have been working on another employment opportunity for about 6 months, and this has now come to fruition.

FWIW the government do not pay agencies like Angard to provide employment opportunities for job seekers, they (the jobseeker) have to approach Angard/Manpower et al to find work in the first place. The government are looking at the slightly longer term in terms of finding work for job seekers, its no good passing a jobless person to an agency only to have him return to the dole queue 2 weeks later due to lack of available work. Incidentally it is my third year as a casual, August has always been a quiet month, where I have had as few as 5 shifts to attend. It all begins to pick up in September. This year I have been rostered for 11 shifts, so it is busier than normal. Although there is a fall off in mail in the system, Royal Mail staff tend to take their holidays while the children are off school, so that still needs covering.

So your sources are Royal Mail Line Managers? Surley this "payment" would be referred to on a Gov't website somewhere?

Hi, I am not saying that is my sources are managers.Thats is what we all think bcs We all angard employees are working for angard for long time about 1-2 years. but from last 5-6 months we all seniors don't get enough hours our average hours of week is 16 or less, but Angard are still employing new people and sending new people every day. can any one explain me why they not giving enough hours to seniors and recruiting new people every day. what is a logic behind it.

This company does not recognise the British virtues of hard work and honesty any more. Third world values of nepotism and corruption are at the forefront all because of the managements aim to be seen as pc.Good luck to you Brian in your new job you were an un appreciated asset to royal mail.
