3 people, in one van, and only 2 van keys. Luckily the weather, which was humid and some rain, didnt break til we'd finished.

Yeah, but it does tho. I spent 3 and a half hours recently doing the lapsing that others couldn't. Cost RM an extra 3.5 hrs wages. If they'd got an extra body in to cover the duty, some peeps would have had an odd 20 mins with nothing to do and the cost to RM to get the extra body in would have been almost 8 hrs wages.

Afternoon in the locker on my day off turned into almost a full day. Phone call early morning to cover half a walk in the town centre. Took 3 hours with the bundling and delivery. Soaked as we got the first rain in a while.

I hope you're as lucky as me, Greengiant. Absurdly quiet day here, especially on the parcels. Fit the entire rural delivery, including the packets and the lapsing(1 small bundle only!) into 4 x perstop trays, and only 2 large parcels beside them! Never managed that before.

Must have jinxed myself! Pretty busy packetwise, and an hours lapsing on OT. Fortunately I could get the lapsed mail in my trolley, so at least this time I didn't have to go back to the DO to get it after doing my walk! :dance

Ridiculous numbers of packets again today. I've never known a summer like this, where the mail has dropped off but the packets have increased. Do people go away any more, or do they just spend their holidays ordering crap off ebay!?

Went over, but even though I only had the outdoor break to add onto my finish time on the o/t sheets, my partner for the day who had not taken any break all shift claimed less o/t than me! Not as if this OPG was on a fixed term contract either, to try and justify not claiming breaks through fear of losing their job, nor are they new to the job. I really dread to think how many in our depot do not account for their PAID breaks!

If I cover the Locker, its so busy, there's no time for a break. Claimed O/T, manager asked me not to, and "Take yer break!"
First day, tried it... Phone never stopped, people knocking the door for their parcels after we'd closed, businesses dropping off boxes and bags of mail on the way home from work, our lads returning with collections..etc, etc.
So, the 30 mins turns in 10 if yer lucky. Takes the mickey...
