The problem here is you don’t seem to have any proof of what you earned and are entitled to. Which is always going to be the case if you don’t have any of your old pension statements, wage slips or P60’s.

I don’t want to be too harsh, but remembering that you earned an X amount 15 years ago isn’t really enough and a copy of pay rates in 1999 when the figures you want are for 2001(based on your previous post) isn’t undisputable fact.

From what you have said, you will be a section c member, so are you factoring in the Lower Earning Deduction into your calculations? So it’s: basic pay + allowances – LED = pensionable pay.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRcannot believe that after all the phone calls, letters, they have just sent me repeated forms to fill in! eh, hello? which makes me wonder if anyone is actually dealing with my understated pension calculations, they cannot even get my state pension age correct which will affect the pension supplement date! I am no further on, ( always worked full time 3weeks every year for 11years in the run up and christmas) not to mention all the other overtime in between covering absenteeism/holiday leave etc, and they say there are no records of me ever having worked overtime.......how can this be I have to wonder........ answers gratefully received!

Robert, thanks for your information, yes, I do have a big problem with lack of 11years payslips!, but HR and the Pension Service should have the correct historical data to work from, would it not be correct that if the the pensionable basic pay was £12,667 (£242.76 per week) for operational emplyees in the years 1999-2000 then surely in 2001-2003 there would not be a reduction in pay, if anything, it would have gone up, I have however managed to find my P60's which show my part time salary as being £8,863, do you know how the LEL is worked out then.

You would have thought so.
would it not be correct that if the the pensionable basic pay was £12,667 (£242.76 per week) for operational emplyees in the years 1999-2000 then surely in 2001-2003 there would not be a reduction in pay, if anything, it would have gone up
OK I’ve checked my past payslips, which are from around August of each year and yes they do show a steady increase:

Year 1999/2000
Flat week = £201.63(basic pay) + £20.00(U.P.A.P)
Working week = as above + £10.14(Driving) + £9.72(6 hrs NDA relating to 0500 start 6 days a week) + some payments for Scheluled Attendence before 0500 which also attracted NDA-SA. I think all of these were pensionable.

Year 2000/2001
Flat week = £242.76(basic pay) + £5.36(shift allowance) + £6.00(driving)
Working week = as above + D2D’s and SA neither were pensionable.

Year 2001-2002 – the Consignia years
Flat week = £250.53(basic pay) + £5.53(early shift allowance) + £6.00(driving)
Working week = as above + some OT & SA neither of which were pensionable

Year 2002/2003 – the consignia years
Flat week = £256.04(basic pay) + £5.62(early shift allowance) + £6.00(driving)
Working week = as above +some D2D’s, OT & SA again not pensionable
I have however managed to find my P60's which show my part time salary as being £8,863
Ok you’re confusing me now! A part timer will obviously not earn as much pension as a full time counterpart. So did you work full or part time?
do you know how the LEL is worked out then.
Yes! The Lower Earnings Limit or Lower Earnings Deduction is a figure that is taken away from the earnings of Section C members of the RM final / average salary pension scheme. The resulting figure is what your actual pension is based on. Although Section C’ers pay less (in money terms) each week towards their pension.
Up until April 1999 the LEL for RM purposes, increased each year with inflation, but the company froze it at the time when it was £3,328. If RM hadn’t frozen it, the current 2014/15 level would be £5,772.
The £3,328 figure is reduced on a pro rata basis for part timers, depending on hours worked.

Thank you Robert for the LEL - LED info, I worked part-time evenings (20hrs), they use the full-time basic salary, night duty allowance which is fully pensionable would have been included so they say! my 11years employment is halved in the calculation, just waiting for a letter showing the weekly fulltime basic pay rate and annual pay for the year they are using for the pensionable income appears to be 1999/2000, I am not convinced that it is correct but feel I am getting there with it.
