Slightly easier today but only just. Got parcels on ot which mysteriously appeared form nowhere. Manager urged me to load the van as she knew they would "grow" if I didn't hurry up and clear them pronto.
Another scorcher.

Just out of interest, what was the outcome of this incident, was it a "sheepish" customer making a grovelling apology perhaps?Thunderthighs wrote:Was OK, til 5.03. Eejit waving an N/A card, ranting and raving about HIS PARCEL, after storming into the closed building. We close at 5pm.
Apologised that we were closed, and I was was going ask if he wanted a re-delivery, but...Thats when he started screaming Racist and Ageist abuse at me.
So...politely asked him to leave but he kept going on outside of the office. And on, and on and on.
One of his last statements was..."It's your fault I gotta come ere. You never deliver wen im in. Im gonna wait in my 'ouse tomorrow, and dur first Postman I see in my drive, Im gonna go out and punch im in the fecking mouth, and knock im out!!!!"
Such a lovely turn-of-phrase, lol!!! Such lovely customers we have...
We do Lone Working pm...So, informed the DOM, by fone, also called at the house of the mornings PHG 1 to see if he turns up for his parcel AM, and also rang the Bobbys.
I'm not taking that sort of verbal abuse from anyone, ever.
Police Statement tomorrow to do. Eejit....

Pretty quiet.
Looking forward to next week, when my duty has 36 odd calls added to it as a result of the re-sign.
Fortunately, the bulk of the additional calls are in a block of flats..

wabbithunta: Outcome , Police want to interview him, can't put on here some of the things he said!
They believe he was "on something". Not good when he's riding around on a unregistered motorbike on busy roads....

Second day of wearing new YDS trainers. Found them to be quite comfortable to be honest. Had quite an easy day, but came home with awful pains in the shins. What's up with that.
Think I'll go back to old shoes for a while.

Despite the extra calls on my duty, today was pretty light. Finished and home for back of 2pm!

A steady Monday apart from my p&l walker is on annual leave this week and they sent a lunatic runner to cover him. I had to tell him to stop running about

Try lacing up your new trainers differently, try looser or tighter, add/ remove loops through eyelets at the top and the middle. Different pressure on different parts of the feet can cause tension on muscles (Shin splints)Newbie001 wrote:Second day of wearing new YDS trainers. Found them to be quite comfortable to be honest. You will probably experience discomfort and pain until you have broke them in and your body adjusts. Experimenting with the laces may speed up this process though.
I'm ex infantry so have plenty of experience in this department.

I like it when some regular ebayer gets a Recorded Delivery packet together with an International signed for on the same day.
You can get a neighbour to sign for one of the packets but have to 739 the other.
This sort of nonsense makes my day.

Slipped on a customers path, fell and grazed the knuckles on my left hand.
Didn't drop any mail, or get any red on it either!

Did you report it as an accident? If so then that'll fekk up your DO's "safety record"greengiant wrote:Slipped on a customers path, fell and grazed the knuckles on my left hand.Didn't drop any mail, or get any red on it either!

'I know the round starts at 7 and finishes at 3, but I need you to do it in 4 and a half hours so you don't do overtime.' 'oh and can you work your day off next week'
'No!'
'No!'

Thought better of reporting it..... Not like it was a major injury!wabbithunta wrote:Did you report it as an accident? Ayway, today was pretty busy packet wise. Managed to get them all apart from one either delivered or D2N. While delivering mail I also posted some "Littlewoods" catalogues through letterboxes which Y*d£l had left on customers doorsteps.....
Finished by half 2, so not too bad!
