All at our depot have been told that all our routes have changed as from 23rd June, in a letter Friday 20th; the start time of my route is now earlier (0700 start instead of 0800), is now longer (now 10.45 hour shift), and has gone from a 75 stop av. route to 103.All agreed with line manmagers and CWU rep.
Is there meant to be a longer notice period of a change?
having kept a diary over the last month, knowing my route well, and always trying to take nothig back to the depot, i know that I can do av.86 drops enabling me to be able to take a break also.
I have previously done 101 with no breaks, and know 103 isn't physicaly sustainable.
Rumour has it that by putting pressure on drivers some will leave reducing staffing levels....
Any comments/help?
Thanks

Re: Changes to route
just be aware that it is depot policy to make the routes physically demanding so that if you leave a post code off they will then review your route and give postcodes to owner drives thus reducing your hours and consequently your wages,it is death by a thousand cuts.,be vigilant,,and I would also question your union to see if these route changes have been sanctioned by the union because depot management have been known to lie,

Re: Changes to route
If all the routes have changed shouldn't you be having a resign?
