take out all the d2d time from workload to save outdoor lapsing
I don't understand this.

basically they wont give time for d2d prep
they wont build it into duty time giving them more indoor time for more road prep
and hold everyone back later instead of giving out lapsed roads

How does not building time for D2D prep into the indoor workload do anything but increase the opportunity for outdoor lapsing?
If they take 20/30 minutes (or whatever) out of your indoor workload you have 20/30 minutes extra for outdoor work.

Am I missing something?

so what the powers above and bob Gibson are saying that for 12 weeks from the 2nd of june we will be getting no parcels and mail so we can do more lapseing which has nothing to do with budgets or money saving  , I cant find this agreement on the cwu site to print out as I want to point it out to the dim it states that it SHOULD NOT TAKE YOU OVER YOUR FINISH TIME.

You mean this bit

To jointly identify genuine opportunities where it will be possible to absorb workload including any travelling time within the scheduled duty time and not take people past their scheduled finish time.

Dom and rep are saying my delivery is going to used for lapsing so I have to do a different job for the summer. Can I do anything as this seems unfair.

Not bring awkward but is there any reason being given why they chose your duty, and conversely are there any reasons why your duty is not suitable for lapsing (even if you were not the duty holder).

The "Ideal" duty can be one that is just outisde the office, or on the way to the other duties that are responsible for lapsing it, or one that is in the centre of the other duties that are lapsing it.

Unfortunately the reason for not lapsing your duty cannot be based on who the duty holder is, in the vast majority of cases. But there should at least be a logical reason why the duty has been chosen.

Thanks, my duty is on the way
, that is the reason it's selected as one for the office to absorb but it just doesn't feel fair. I'm being singled out and treated differently just because my job is on route

But whose duty would it be fair on, not just to the duty holder, but the ones that have to do the lapsing. Also it wouldn't make any financial, business or commercial sense to use a duty that was not en-route to other duties, or close to the office.

It won't feel fair to anyone whose duty is picked,we all recognise that, but someones has to be. The best way to handle the situation is try and look at it dispassionately and not from a personal viewpoint. If you do that in an honest way and still think its unfair then you can ask the managers/reps to look at it again because you may be right, there may well be a better duty to lapse than yours, only you and your office can judge its fairness we certainly can't. However, I'll be honest that chances of changing minds is slim in the extreme.

Ok thanks for advice. I keep trying to tell myself a change is as good as a rest.
