Well it would certainly help if those who are nattering had tried pushing or pulling a trolley recently, whichever is the flavour of the month, for a couple of weeks. I assume you are referring to yourself when you make allusion to a General which brings me in mind of the Somme - so easy to presume but so difficult to justify.dingo wrote: You don't have to have performed a delivery in the last week to know what's going on. In the same way a general does not have to fight every battle to know what his troops are facing
There seems to be a common view held certainly by Dvbuk that anyone North of Watford is working every second of the day , every day of the week and every week of the year. Well in the real world we know that's not true.
Again the CWU don't want people starting before their time , they want them to take meal reliefs and they don't want them absorbing if they are forced to work beyond their time. But equally we cannot argue that we want people to finish early either.
Do I believe that London consider themselves a special case - yes and many more think so too.
If the CWU were truly concerned about people starting early, going without meals, not using the proscribed equipment, not booking overtime because they are concerned about not having a contract renewed, extended, made permanent ........then why not have a word with their partners to ensure that those things are carried out? You CWU wallahs spout rhetoric without ever addressing the problems.
