did you highlight the unstability to the mechanic when you were trained to change the wheel? if so what did he say about it?robbertwhitton wrote:anyone had trouble with the vehicle jacks on the Vauxhall combos? they are somewhat unstable to say the least.just wondered if anyone else has had problems, not that keen on having to use them to change a wheel,

Re: vehicle jacks
We've been banned from changing wheels here , all work carried out by RAC for the roadside punctures or private contractor in the yard for punctures/tyre replacements.

Re: vehicle jacks
so your saying you are not doing the mandatory daily and duty and weekly checks on your vehicle? the ones that have should have had extra time scheduled in your duty to do when your revision was put in?mlw wrote:exactly what i said to this jumped up t**t today as he asked me if i had carried out a vehicle inspection i said yes i checked for wear in the tyres and that the doors where working and secure he says why did i not check the oil and screenwash! and have you checked if the wipers are working and all lights are working!! he says we should do this every day! and i will be reporting you i said ok and when you see my manager can you tell him i need 30 mins ot from now on as i need to service the van before i go out! i mean does anyone really carry out these checks every day?spiderj wrote:I'm paid to deliver mail

he is not exactly being a jumped up t**t he is just asking you to do your job properly which in turn will make his job easier due to less emergency breakdowns

It literally takes under ten minutes to check a vehicles roadworthy...
Apart from the fact its a legal requirement
Do you want to cause an accident
Or not see a kid cause your windscreen is filthy...
I won

check your duty 318, as part of the planning process extra time is put in for the driver to do daily checks and extra time again for his weekly checks also
