Angard agency and another agency

Post by Exforces »

Can you work for Angard and another employment agency at the same time, as I have been informed that you can't do both?

If you work for Royal Mail you can't work for a competitor thats in our contract (I think). If there are any similar restrictions it should be in your employment contract with Angard. I can see them having a ban on competitors in the Mail/Courier sector, but not an outright ban on using other agencies that would be unfair and restrictive.

Yes you can work for other Agencies and companies. Indeed you will be lucky to get enough work with Angard. Some Angardees have fulltime jobs elsewhere and work for Angard occasionally.

Re: Annual leave ratio calculation

Many thanks for the prompt replies...Next questions. How is annual leave calculated at what ratio of hours worked = hours annual leave entitlement? Also can you take any leave owing over after the 31st March 2014 leave year.

Extract from an e-mail from Angard this year "You accrue roughly 4.5 hours holiday for 35 hours". The Government websites say it should be 12.07 % of hours worked.

You cannot carry holiday hours over to next year. You should have already received an e-mail from Angard about this.

Many thanks again for the reply.
Annual leave was a total panic as many staff where ill informed what they had accrued and how to go about sorting it out prior to the 28 March cut off date. Angard sorted some staff out quickly over the phone and even put the hours into last weeks pay, however others had to mess around and put it in writing before it would be processes at all. Others where asked to work on there annual leave day and they would have it moved into next years entitlement (thought it says you cant do that) dodgy dealing. Some staff have even worked on supposed annual leave days and so have been payed twice (illegal i thought) whist some have missed out completely. Any thoughts?

Typical Angard.

They tried to get us all to complete forms for all holiday hours last year but it became impossible, as it is and will be every year. Then they decided to pay it all anyway at the end of the year without filling in the forms - including partial holiday hours. It really is the only fair way to do it as people will always lose out on most holiday earned in the week up to the last day and you are not allowed to book anything but whole hours.

So at the moment Angard gain by not paying some hours and / or partial hours that employees are legally entitled to but the rules make it hard/impossible for the employee to obtain all their entitlement.
