When do you get a pay rise with angard

Whilst working at Royal Mail at Xmas, I got told that after 12 weeks,your pay goes up to £10.00 an hour with angard, regardless of how many hours you work, just as long as you have worked one day in a week,t hat week counts. This seems too good to be true. I have another job now but I would do a 6 to 10 shift a couple days a week if my pay would go up after 12.

Its not 10 - but its close - and its all down to the Agency Workers Regulations - might be worth reading up on it to make sure you comply/not ripped off.

Thanks for the,reply , I am wondering though if you don't work a week ,it breaks the continuity and therefore your back to square one? Work with angard is not guaranteed every week.

Pay rates will vary with: the shift you are working; whether working during the week or a Sunday/Bank Holiday; length of service (increases after 6 months and 12 months of AWR qualification); where you work (which MC/DO etc) and potentially what you are doing (e,g, sorter, driver, delivery).

Also, if you go into overtime (in excess of 35 hours 40 minutes) your pay rate goes down and if you go in excess of 45 hour and 40 minutes it goes down further. Plus if you go into overtime (in excess of 35 hours 40 minutes) and have worked Sunday your pay rate for all of the hours worked on Sunday is reduced to the Sunday overtime rate.

We are also due a pay rise in line with the RM permanent staff pay rise.

Angard claim to have in excess of 2500 different pay rates across the country.

Best way to find out is probably to ask someone at your place of work who is already AWR qualified but they may not know all the possible pay rates. Alternatively, once qualified Angard may tell you - if you ask them.

So stupid don't understand why it has to be so complicated. If I work just the 6pm till 10pm for 12 weeks, once or twice a week, how much will I earn doing the same shift after 12 weeks?

Its hard to tell as Angard lump all the hours together on our wage slips so if you do 8 hours of night shift and 5 hours of lates they add both payments together and divide by 13 to come to a composite hourly rate, the exception for some reason was when I worked on Boxing day which was listed separately (plus when the rate goes down for "overtime"). At our Mail Centre a 10 pm weekday finish would earn you around £11 after 12 months so I imagine it would be over £10 after 12 weeks, though it varies from region to region.

It is so complicated because it is complicated for the Royal Mail staff and Angard have to replicate it for us.

I cant tell you what you will earn as I do not know where you are working and unless it is the same place as me I will not know what you will earn. For the time 6pm to 10pm you will be on the late shift rate - whatever that will be at your place. Best people to ask are AWR qualified Angard staff at the place you work.

By definition they aren't. Once they are AWR qualified they are entitled to the same pay rate, allowances and conditions as RM employees. If they are being paid more than you or I then its because someone in Royal Mail on the same shift and workplace is also earning the same.

We get a pay rate but this combines your pay rate plus other benefits you get (e.g. shift allowances, additional holidays, probably your pension payments, clothing allowance and anything else you may get) that we don't actually get as a benefit. These benefits are worked out and given to us as part of our pay rate.

Erm I have been employed by Angard Staffing for almost 3 months now and I am wondering how do I become a permanent Angard staff and not just on the ''tester period''. Do I need to call Angard them selves or do I ask them via email?

No such thing as a permanent Angard staff or a tester period.

When you join you are an Angard casual and probably paid minimum wage. When you have worked at least one shift per week for 12 weeks (without a 6 week gap) you then qualify for AWR.
