You know what i think these people who come on here and make totally mis informed comments or abusive comments are either sad little school boys with nothing better to do, lazy benefit grabbing scum who haven't recieved their tax credit forms or just RM managers asked to stir trouble.

lets see if these people are so smug if the worst comes to the worst and royal mail did get into such a bad way the competition started delivering mail, and it cost the general public £1 per letter as a starting price and then only if it was worth DHL/TNT time

yes i like working for royal mail, yes i'm grateful to have a job yes i work my hours but on the odd day when i make time why shouldn't i go home early, at then end of the day it was royal mails decision to introduce job and finish, and you tell me any other worker in the country or world in fact, that if they got told "once you have finished you can go home no matter what time it is" wouldn't try to make some time up.

i have spent the last 19 years working for royal mail, and since crozier and leighton have taken over they have turned a once happy workforce in to the striking bunch you see before you today, but if have to stand up for what is right, surely you cannot condone us wanting a decent wage rise which amounts to nothing more than £8 per week before tax and protection of our pensions, or do you takemedown think it's ok for the front line staff not to get a decent rise and let the fat cats get 100k bonus for nothing

I think we have to face the fact that the general public take their mail service for granted...

Lets not forget walks were designed (originally in our office) with a manager sat one side
of the table & a union rep the other who then come to an agreement.

We do please read the rest of the forum and present an educated and informed opinion, and we will be more than happy to argue our position. However your first post shows that you have only listened to one side of the argument and not both.

The sad fact is that they will still have jobs when the RM is privatised - so will your shiny Union Bosses.
There will always be a Royal Mail - the question is, will you still have a job there?

Perhaps you could point me in the right direction to join a Union of small business, aka self-employed small traders, who rely 100% on the Royal Mail? And perhaps you can then tell me what action they might take on my behalf?
Thought not. Only those with disproportionate power attack those with none...there are people even lower in the food chain than you.

You could join Usdaw. Not that they'd be too happy to have a whingeing turd like you in membership.

We are all users of royalmail, your small business will be paying out more if we lose this dispute. Go & find out how much the courier firms will charge your business. Because in your words 'there are people even lower in the food chain' doesn't mean we should be dragged down to that level. I hope you treat your employees better than we get treated.
