it's the fact that the ever growing number of sub 39 hour staff are expected to do the same work as a full time worker

How does that work.
A 39 hr employee does 39 hrs of work.
A 30 hr employee does 30 hrs of work.
Anything above that is voluntary and if it isn't speak to your rep.

all i'm doing is is turning this in to a f/t v's p/t fight, which is exactly the the thing i didn't want but knew it would.
the grievance is with the powers above,and a union who wants what's best for the ever decreasing majority of its f/t membership subs.
in relation to the f/t & p/t situation, most p/t staff do more than quite a few f/t staff week in week out at our office.
why didn't our employers pay what's morally right?
why didn't my union demand what's morally right?
a deal was struck at a time when most are fed up and skint at an expensive time of year and will just be happy to get to the new year breaking even and looking forward to a steady few months after the chaotic sham december brought us.

In that case the Job Security, Resourcing and Managing Change Agreement should be used to make those part-timers....full-time.

The level of part timers’ contracted hours will be jointly reviewed locally on a six monthly basis. Where appropriate, increased contracted hours will be offered to reflect the hours actually worked and planned.

where appropriate is a weird issue, i have a mate contracted to 24 hrs who does done 40ish hours most weeks for well over 2 years, and the gaffa wont make him up

I think it depends on how he is making up those hours.
Someone once posted that they had to be doing those extra hours on their own duty and not just as random overtime.

he's a reserve, who like most under a just few years service are at the arse end, no chance of his own duty
