Maybe I am wrong but reading the Royal Mail agreement were does it say anything about £200 for colleague shares. I really think we should get over this colleague shares business. It's been and gone along time ago..

Quite right. It is nothing to do with Colleagushares.cloherty1976 wrote:Maybe I am wrong but reading the Royal Mail agreement were does it say anything about £200 for colleague shares. I really think we should get over this colleague shares business. It's been and gone along time ago..
It is a one-off payment to make up for the money we lost through D2D going into workload.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: LTB 840/13 Payment of ?200 lump sum and the Christmas Bo
The extra £100 of the Christmas bonus is the colleague share bit that was secured in the last deal, the shares were worth more than £100 but £100 each Christmas added to the £100 we already received will eventually pay more than the colleague shares were worth.
Add to that the £200 extra this year and I will actually look forward to my Payslip on Thursday

Do you know they will be based per contract hours and not hours worked? Some bonuses in past have been based on hours worked recently as were the shares. Does anyone have it in writing which bonuses are based on contracted hours and which are based on hours worked? This is never stated clearly in any agreements I've read.IloveMYredTROLLEY! wrote:Dave, how many years are you going to keep allowing RM to pay these bonuses to be paid at per contract hours, rather than actual hours worked over a period of time by PT staff? I know plenty of 22.5hr that pull 30+ hours and 30hr that pull 39+ hours week in week out, I'm sure they would very much have appreciated ~£300/£400 before tax respectively, rather than the ~£230/£300 gross they will actually receive.

How can they pay the £200 this month when it's part of a deal that we don't vote on till next month and might reject ?

because its an oxygreement - the extra £200 whilst announced and discussed at the same time as the New Agreement is not part of the agreement. Its recognition of the hard work we have put into Royal Mails performanceLounge Lizard wrote:How can they pay the £200 this month when it's part of a deal that we don't vote on till next month and might reject ?
A one off non pensionable lump sum of £200 for each full time eligible employee (part timers pro-rata) in post on 1st October 2013 and on [the payment date] in respect of contribution to business performance. This is being paid separately and before Christmas in recognition of the contribution employees have made to the business during this year.

So it's £200 in recognition of the AVERAGE contribution employees have made to the business during this yearTrueBlueTerrier wrote:because its an oxygreement - the extra £200 whilst announced and discussed at the same time as the New Agreement is not part of the agreement. Re: LTB 840/13 Payment of ?200 lump sum and the Christmas Bo
I've just received my payslip to find out all 3 lump sums are pro rata to whatever you are contracted to regardless of any extra work done.kevbo wrote:Do you know they will be based per contract hours and not hours worked? It does make a mockery of the term used "bonus payment business performance"
I don't want it took like i'm bad mouthing certain co workers or sound like just sour grapes, though it will i'm sure, just trying to put it across in a fair minded point of view, and I know this is my own perception based on my own work rate and quite a few other p/t compared to quite a few f/t in our delivery office,
not just in hours, but more importantly, efficiency, we have so many f/t workers who are allowed to concentrate on their own duties while the rest have to then do even more ips, including p/t.
how hard can it be to calculate your hours?
its easy for admin to select 20/24/30 hours or whatever p/t and divide it accordingly , but its also quite easy (though probably too difficult for RM) to pull up last years P60 and calculate that way and/or divide this years gross pay by however many weeks have passed so far, either way you'll get a long term picture of their work and not just bulling just before holiday or xmas.
All this does is alienate p/t staff even more who I find generally try to do that bit more to get to the magical 39 and end up doing mid 40's.
This method being used is just the lazy way of going about it rushing it through with RM knowing they've made thousands of postal workers happy this xmas, but its by far fair on p/t staff, yes its only £50-£100ish which can be easily made back with a bit of overtime,
but to me its the assumption that I do less work for RM than most other staff.
Once again, I've got around £50 less, which is nothing much really spread over 3 items, its the principal that RM consider me lesser worth than some when loads do equal and some compared to some f/t staff week in week out, but I guess they know nobody is daft enough to bite their nose off and just stick to the lower hours

As a FT I agree completely with the position that all bonuses should be paid on average hours, I mean even the Delievery Supplement is paid on hours worked, albeit its not made very clear that it is.

Good to hear support from someone FT. Just wish the union would have done the same for what is a performance related bonus. Could possibly be challenged legally if anyone could be bothered with the hassle. Not for me though before anyone says!TrueBlueTerrier wrote:As a FT I agree completely with the position that all bonuses should be paid on average hours, I mean even the Delievery Supplement is paid on hours worked, albeit its not made very clear that it is.

Re: LTB 840/13 Payment of ?200 lump sum and the Christmas Bo
we do pay a lower sub?
honesty, to me its not entirely about the money, it's the fact that the ever growing number of sub 39 hour staff are expected to do the same work as a full time worker without the "perks" if you can call it that, but i'm of the mindset of a fair days pay for a fair days work and get any reward just the same as the next man

How does that work.world class male wrote:it's the fact that the ever growing number of sub 39 hour staff are expected to do the same work as a full time worker
A 39 hr employee does 39 hrs of work.
A 30 hr employee does 30 hrs of work.
Anything above that is voluntary and if it isn't speak to your rep.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
