The "new" face of RM!
Come in and prep another frame for thirty minutes, that's smaller than your own, while they're sorting mail. Go to your own frame and just as you're about to start prepping the linos call everyone to go to do sorting duties - huge load of mail in office. End result means you end up going out late again whilst the person whose frame your threw off swans around the office doing "sod all" and also goes out on time and leaves their cut off in the office as their P&L Del is "too large". All this and your own P&L Del is even larger and you'r still on your delivery and come back in after cutting off , they're basically "feet up" at home for at least an hour!
Still if the DOM lives up to their word and does walk tests on ALL walks
then this person will have their cutoff put back on their delivery
and won't have the "easy life" anymore.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Is it just me or is it worse this year? No excuses re the weather. I shudder to think how things would be with a blast of snow from the North. Some 40-50 trays of manual mail were left for Monday in our depot. Customers being told to come back in 2 days time to collect packets. Some days we don't have enough packet bags. We even ran out of P739 cards a few weeks ago. Trouble is they are stripping people off to deliver packets early morning which leads to only 1/2 to 2/3 rds of the complement of IPS sorters when I get in. So more and more seems to get left unsorted each day. Packets are bad but at least most of them are sorted in areas (but not delivered) whereas the unsorted mail is unmanageable and has reached crisis proportions. Every day is a slog (usually 5 hours from start to finish). Still Christmas will be with us soon

Well we've now run out of our Xmas 739 cards, and we've been told we won't be getting any more
We're now writing out on paper photocopies ............ in the rain

That, errrr, must be the professional look that management are striving for. PDAs, paper photocopies of 739 cards.Pinky 1 wrote:Well we've now run out of our Xmas 739 cards, and we've been told we won't be getting any more![]()

Seriously though, I thought last xmas was an absolute shambles.......Until now. Senior managers/executives are getting a vastly disproportionate slice of the cake, compared to us in the frontline, when they should all be sacked without a moments delay.
They get a performance related bonus at least once a year, and the bigger the Pig at the trough, the bigger the bonus.
Nothing wrong with that, except it's YOURS, MINE, outstanding performances that these greedy, inept clowns that is helping to enrich these morons further.
Judged soley by their own immensely poor performances, I doubt even a politician would put but a few brass coppers in their collective swag bag.

Week started of well as i was due to do 2 easy walks. Only did them Tues and Wed then dumped on a hell round. Everyone says good luck with that when i tell them what i'm on.
The walk takes me 4-5 hours depending on the load. Im only due in 4 hours so OT booked daily and with the Xmas deal in affect its a bugger to book my OT.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Two weeks until the end of Madness. Two weeks until the granny comments like, "POSTY! Can u fit ONE MORE in?" as theyve seen yer van and are sprinting Usian Bolt-like across the roads.
Not bad for a knee, hip replacement and Zimmer frame pensioner.
