Pretty much everybody has been assigned to their DU's now, through-out this week TNT posties will be out on the bikes scouting their rounds, learning their maps and loops and then we go live next week.
So don't forget to give that TNT postie a as he passes

Well if you lot are anything like your van drivers you'll spend more time asking for directions
"Cara yn bod 'n briod , dydy 'n fawr at ca a hun 'n anad berson a 'ch angen at blina achos 'r bwyso chan 'ch buchedd "
" I like being married,, it's great to find that one special person you want to bother for the rest of your life "
We don't "play" at being postmen - we work at it.
TNT aren't even directly employing their staff yet - they are agency based with three months to prove they can die for a low wage or bust a gut for bonuses :)

Wrong, Mr Know it all
A very select few have their contracts with GI for the first 12 weeks, and GI I think is the only agency which has been used.
The vast majority are directly employed by TNT, I know because I'm one of them... I've spoken with 100's of other employees, attended classroom inductions and training where things such as contracts have been extensively discussed,
Most have come from the work programs put in place by the government to help people back into work such as Avanta, and a very select few have come from the GI agency after the staffing potential from the work programs had been depleted.
So please refrain from trying to arguing on this, you'll be wrong and a fool to do so
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

You seem to know a lot about the ins and outs and ups and downs of the business for an ordinary TNT "postman".
Who are you really BlackAndOrange because you're not some casual guy who's just walked into a TNT job, that i'll put money on.
Well - the TNT guys have had their first days on the streets and we have met the ones working our area and said hello, offered help finding places if required and given them some encouragement because believe me they needed it. Obviously new to the whole concept of mail delivery they were tired, frustrated and working well over the time they were told to expect. We've had quite a few wrong deliveries handed to us in our area and whilst at first refusing to handle them we now have been instructed that there is a protocol for dealing with their misdeliveries and they should be accepted and returned via our secure locker staff to revenue protection for charging to TNT - they are expected to do likewise with mail handed to their staff. I suppose they will refine things if they are allowed to use initiative but at present they seem to be doing a lot of wasted walking and parking bikes in all the wrong places. We are fortunate to have local knowledge and a lot of experience on our side and that will have to be learned as they work - it can't be given to you on a piece of paper!!!. One of their guys rang the TNT DU for help with a sequence problem and was told to find a café, sit at a table and sort it there - nice to know they are part of a caring, supportive organisation.
I thought that Blackandorange might have returned to tell us how gloriously successful his first experiences were, but I suspect all was not as expected :)

Let the games begin
That's the way to introduce yourself, you'll go far. In my humble opinion you sound like a right womans widgey.
I wouldn't quite call it live, a shiney new bike with two panniers and a handbag. As already mentioned lost and confused. Mail delivered to wrong addresses and letters sticking out of letter boxes. Seems more of TNT's excellent training is required. Ive also heard [so can't confirm] your comrades have to pedal approx four miles to get to their 1st delivery point up my way, all for about £6.50 an hour. Good job all TNT employees aren't like you or they would be given some wrong directions.

It's encouraging that "there is a protocol for dealing with their misdeliveries and they should be accepted and returned via our secure locker staff to revenue protection for charging to TNT"
