Post Office Managers on Strike?Ha!!

So the spineless managers of POL have finally had enough of being taken for granted according to the media.
Apparently they will be refusing to work extra hours and 'working to rule' etc.
Three points here.

1. POL managers voting to strike is effectively a vote of no confidence in POL's senior management. This senior management team is the same group of cretins who have sat idly by as the disgraceful Horizon situation has unfolded whilst claiming that there is nothing wrong with the system. This amoral bunch of morons should fall on their swords and resign en masse with immediate effect. They do not possess an ounce of business acumen or moral standards between the lot of them.

2. POL managers refusing to work extra hours? Those with any sense have only worked their contracted hours, giving and taking from week to week, for a number of years now. Those who are consistently working extra should simply 'get a life'. This may sound blunt but it really is that simple! (And it may give the counter staff some welcome relief from the constant stream of drivel that wends its way from the offices of branch managers).

3. POL managers 'working to rule'? Will anybody notice? Enough said.

Overall, this just shows what a terrible mess POL is in and it's a mess that's building for many years. A change at the top is needed and for goodness sake, sack those area managers. These people having been stealing a salary and making the lives of staff miserable for far too long.

Jobs do not get allocated like finishing positions in a race. There are many candidates who are qualified enough to be senior managers and executives so how is the successful candidate chosen?
The answer is by connections. It's what you know that gets you through the time trials but winning the race is all about who you know.

These senior managers and executives have all got their positions through connections but they try to sell us the idea that they have earned their positions on merit and they think we are stupid enough to believe this. They want us to accept pay freezes and pension cuts while they take huge bonuses. Their only argument for this unfair treatment is that they are superior beings compared to us.

We have all seen people from families that don't have connections clinging on to the belief that if you work hard enough, you will be rewarded. Often, these people do two people's work in the hope it will gain them promotion. They never see that their behaviour makes it less likely that they will be promoted because the company would have to hire two people to replace them. They believe the 'merit' line because it is their only hope. In the UK today, the reality is you can't work your way out of poverty. Your best chance is to marry into a family that has connections.

For a brief period after the war, the elite were down on their numbers so some unconnected people could get well paid jobs on merit alone. Once the positions were filled, the new elite wanted to pass these jobs on to their friends and family like the old elite has always done so they pulled up the drawbridge. The Post Office has its own elite, they may well all speak in different accents but they all have one thing in common - their connections got them their jobs.

People will not accept bonus culture any longer. We must have more pay at the bottom and less pay at the top.

The media certainly didn't and you've got to look really hard online to find any mention of it.

Fair play to them for making their point but unfortunately nobody cares, either above them or below them in the organisation.

The telegraph noticed but the story they printed was error ridden.
