Shares soaring!

Post by hubbahubba »

I see the share price is rocketing atm, anybody got a theory as to why, apart from the obvious "undervaluation"?

With the prospect of strike action in the near future,it seems strange that the price should continue to climb surely?

Or is somebody "in the know" as to the outcome of talks, the selling of property etc?

:cuppa
same as it ever was...

Hardly rocketing, but slowly climbing.

Not rocketing, yes. But it IS odd, that each day that passes without a deal being announced, we are 24 hours closer to an ACTUAL strike. So you'd expect the shares to be slipping in price, not going up.
Maybe some institutional investors have inside knowledge of a deal that's yet to be made public knowledge?

Strike was factored in, plus undervalued.

No. The possibility of a strike was factored in. Maybe some buyers at the 510p+ levels are going to get their fingers burned. If they drop 10%, to say 460p, those who bought at 330p will still be quids in.

Big fish eating little fish.
The price is being propped up as the big investors who are more interested in the dividends than the share price hoover up all the little £750s from Joe Public.
It'll drop back a little once that's done.

A postie sells his shares at 13.38 - trade 2 on the list

Good on him or her.

Yes, cash is off very little value to some of the investors especially some of the foreign investors - petrol or mineral money and all that. They are after steady investment and somewhere legit to park their money.

The biggest gainers are now those that went postal as their share certificate and/or information will just be arriving.

This is interesting. But I think it is the scarcity of the shares now that is leading the price increase rather the value of the company.

Profit taking I would have thought. On Friday night after close there was I think 2 million shares traded by big institutions after the close so that's why they went up sharply this morning..

It looks like there are some Automatic Trades (AT) and loss savers selling as soon as it is below £5.00.

Like I said, all interesting. My interest will pass - sorry to bore some people...
