Cold, then hot. Cold then hot again....the sweat inside met the condesation/mist on the outside. Weird weather...
D2D's not prepped as "promised" as was the round, only 1/2 prepped, but guy back from sick leave didnt know it to be fair. He did an admirable job tho.
So, tomoz gonna be a D2D From Hell day. Oh, and HEAVY rain just make it really great!

Made an hour and 15mins, after taking all of our break. All about the partner. All about the partner. All about the partner. All about the partner. With about 5% of the office I make or finish on time. With the other 95% I'm an hour+ over and I get the pleasure of someone's company complaining all day about how big there round is.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Only my 2nd day on the job but was ok. Was down for a 4 hour shift and went out for 2 hours with someone to learn the job, was then due to go out and learn a route they wanted me to do Saturday. That all changed as i was sent out to do half a full time round. Was very simple streets and only took me 20 mins longer then it should have.
Also got to speak to the DOM about my hours and we agreed to me working 6 days next week 10-2 not ideal but means i do 4 hours overtime and tbh i should be able to pick atleast an hour a day to get me close to 30.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Well 3rd day on the job was a joke. Got in at 10 to be told im doing 2 half rounds i've never done. 1st one took about 2 hours and only went out on the 2nd about 12.30. Said i needed to leave at 2 but all i got was "you better get a move on then". In the end worked till 3 and finished the job, get back to the office to find out it close's at 2. Nice to be told, didn't have any's number to call but an old timer was just getting back and offered to take it as he was in 7am Monday and im only due in at 10.
From now on i'm going to finish at 2 on Saturdays done or not. Don't mind starting earlier but not working past 2 from now on.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Got in On Time, but was told..."we tried to ring u to come in early." I didnt get the call.
So, had to attempt a 5 hr delivery in not as much time.
Did it, but the rain - very heavy at times - didnt help.
Then, office was closed/empty on my return, so had to leave N/A's in the locked van.
Not good...

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Knocked a door with a tracked,no answer so in the pissing rain write out an illegible P739 stick it through the door, scan the tracked as undelivered and walk away and obviously as I'm walking away she opens the door(very pretty) and says "I never hear the door,I just heard you putting the card through".Well I'm soaked and in a mood but she's pretty(did I say that?) so I let it slide take the card, hand her the tracked and walk away...
Just as I hear the door slam I realise that I haven't scanned the tracked as delivered so I kick the f***ing gate almost off its hinges and trudge back to the door.I knock the door and knock the door for the best part of 2 minutes and no show,by this time I'm slamming that letterbox so hard(don't be rude) that curtains are twitching up and down the street and still nothing.
Eventually I opened the door myself and shouted "Excuse me" down the hall and another woman(even prettier) comes to the door.I explain the situation, she giggles goes off to get the parcel and I scan it as delivered.I tell her to get a doorbell, she giggles some more and I trudge off mouthing obscenities.
Georoute gives you 1 minute for attendance calls.

One of the great mysteries of being a postie.fishtank wrote:Knocked a door with a tracked,no answer so in the pissing rain write out an illegible P739 stick it through the door, scan the tracked as undelivered and walk away and obviously as I'm walking away she opens the door(very pretty) and says "I never hear the door,I just heard you putting the card through".Well I'm soaked and in a mood but she's pretty(did I say that?) so I let it slide take the card, hand her the tracked and walk away...

Customers can't hear you virtually kicking the door off its hinges.
But they can hear a letterbox closing at 300 yards.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
There is a woman on my round who complains about being woken up on a Saturday.Such a shame that she had 2 large tracked items today! Even more of a shame that she is the 3rd call on our new revised P/L delivery.Even more more of a shame that we got out of the office at 8:15 today!.......kept a smile on my face anyway, driver wanted to take them as they were bulk but I insisted.I do like my job sometimes.

That's what I like to see. A postie going that extra mile, just for the benefit of the customer......ewancurze wrote:There is a woman on my round who complains about being woken up on a Saturday.Such a shame that she had 2 large tracked items today! I used to have a bloke who'd moan that he 'only got to lie in at weekends'.
If he had an SD/recorded or parcel, I'd drive to his house 1st.
