You shouldn't as it gives a false picture of what is possible with the manpower available.
Our DOM and Line Manager have told us that if we did come in on time, that they would have a better case for more staff in the office, but as some of us make it look easy that is not likely to happen.
Most other businesses require you to be ready to work at your starting time, not having a coffee, going to the toilet or showing someone the latest pictures of your kids so it cuts both ways - some in the office start up to an hour before their time unpaid and some actually commence, meaningful paid work twenty minutes after their start time so I suppose it all balances out. I get in about ten minutes early, hang my coat up and take all the boxes of mail and tracks off my frame that the early duty has laid out so that I can prep my DTD's. I suppose I give them 5 minutes a day but then I am a generous soul by nature

Royal mail is happy to get all the unpaid labour it can so you will never see them locking you out to stop you working - the only fly in the ointment may be as to whether you are insured for accidents whilst not officially working ... any H&S experts have an answer to this ?
