Ahh that's ' Modernisation ' that's my favourite word now I even use it in the house now against the Wife whenever I want something done or do something she dislikes... even she's starting to hate the word. This sites look has been the same for years and the smilies haven't changed, pretty sure this RMC site could do with a little modernisation lol

I'll give it until next spring when the requirement to deliver on Saturdays will be dropped.blackadder wrote:just said xmas 2014 as it b a year after sell off

Don't be silly.blackadder wrote:its gota be a good 50,000 going at least by xmas 2014
They can only cut what can be managed just as they have done for the last 10 years. It won't be a case of making people redundant, there is plenty of natural wastage in RM.
What we have going for us is packets, they're labour intensive and take a whole lot more time to deliver than letters. It will be a few years before RM needs to cut a significant amount of outlay, and IMO the removal of Saturdays from the USO will free up hundreds of millions per year and still be able to be managed without any compulsory redundancies. It's a far easier option than trying to reduce pay to minimum wage or stop delivering to rurals.
That's assuming RM managers have any sense of course, which I'm dubious about.

RM profits are increasingly significantly, there's no way a bill will pass the Houses of Parliament to reduce the USO while RM is making large amounts of money. Give it 5-10 years and RM will go cap in hand claiming letters have dropped massively and it cannot afford to sustain the USO, then Saturdays will go.Bernardson wrote:I'll give it until next spring when the requirement to deliver on Saturdays will be dropped.blackadder wrote:just said xmas 2014 as it b a year after sell off
All IMO of course, just as anyone else's posts are although many claim theirs as facts.
