Eligible employees are guaranteed 10% of the one billion shares in Royal Mail and just over 100 million shares have been reserved for the Free Shares Offer.
The Government will confirm the “Offer Price” for Royal Mail shares on 11 October 2013. However, it is the closing mid-price on 15 October 2013 – the day that public trading in the shares begins – that will be the relevant starting point for the initial market value of your Free Shares.
Eligible employees will not be able to sell their shares, or transfer them out of the SIP, until at least three years after the date they receive them, except in certain circumstances. This means the value of the shares if and when you sell them will most likely change from the initial market price.
We will write to all eligible employees who have not opted out of the Free Shares Offer shortly after 15 October 2013 to tell them the number of Free Shares they have received, the price at which they have been allocated and the initial market value of the shares.
A formal allocation notice will be sent by the SIP Trustee at a later date.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
