What do you mean it's only for 3 years? How many times in the past have you had a deal for longer than 3 years?

How many times have RM actually honoured a 3 year deal? I mean fully honoured all existing parts of it? They don't exactly have a very reassuring record.

Been here 25 years and can't remember when I did not get what they promised. I know we have the shares embargo but they did not do anything wrong it was just clever. We still got a few quid out of it but would have been nice to have got the rest but we have to move on. Remember Leighton gave us over £1000 when we had a no sickness clause and he paid out more than at first thought. I still say if Leighton and crozier were in charge today the shares money would have been paid out but we got rid of them for moya. That's life today.

How about Phase 4 of the P&M07 agreement
Or the Share in Success agreement. Up to 2 weeks before completion we were in line for around £100 each - on pay out £0.
How about ESA1 and 2 protected under grandfather rights - only it wasn't.
Then the BT2010 and that the 100BSI wouldn't be imposed in the 1st revision.

I could go on but its a different world in deliveries - certainly different to the one you left.

I can only speak about what I was promised and others in our function. I don't know about these as left delivery

If somebody else has posted that wages will be slashed after year 3 they are making it up. They don't know that and have no evidence but either choose to believe it or just like scaring people. Nobody knows what the economic and commercial situation will be in 3 years time so it would be increasingly risky for RM to extend the pay offer beyond that point but to assume that this means that wages will be cut after 3 years is illogical and perverse.. Has RM offered a 3 year deal before? I thought pay deals have generally been a year at a time in which case 3 years seems like a good thing but you seem determined to see it as a negative. Presumably if RM had offered a 5 year deal you would be saying that wages will be slashed in year 6.

Royal Mail shares are due to begin trading on October 15, with City sources claiming high demand from institutional investors for the stock. The CWU union's ballot of workers closes the following day. If a 'Yes' vote is returned the earliest strike action could take place is on October 23rd, causing huge disruption to the company in the run-up to Christmas, and almost certainly affecting the value of shares held by the staff.

And your point is?

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph in July, Michael Fallon urged posties to accept Royal Mail's pay offer of 8.6 per cent over three years, explaining: "It looks pretty reasonable compared to the 1 per cent a year cap for nurses, teachers and armed forces."

And once again, I DO NOT CARE WHAT PAY RISES OTHER PEOPLE HAVE GOT, OR HOW THE PROPOSED DEAL COMPARES TO THEM.
It should also be pointed out that some of those mentioned are already on more money than we are.
